It proved to be one of the hotter days of the summer as we followed Chichester Canal to Chichester Marina for a well-deserved coffee.  The route from there to our lunch stop just beyond Itchenor was less busy and we enjoyed watching the sailing boats in the harbour contesting with the strong breeze.

The path then hugged the coastline with bits of woodland giving welcome shade until the shock of all the cars and tourists who had flocked to East Head at West Wittering.  A few of us completed the extension taking in part of England’s Coastal Path for well-earned refreshments and an excellent barbecue.
