On both days the temperature was only about 5 deg C.
Just three of us attempted Sunday’s walk from Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil and this had its challenges. The major works on the A465 (Heads of the Valley Road) around Merthyr Tydfil and the road closure near Vaynor combined with the Taff Trail being closed over the Cefn Coed Viaduct, and another path closed but the sign only at one end. At least it stayed dry almost to the end! We did a loop north on the Taff Trail via Vaynor and returned via Cwm Taff Fechan and its river. The museum exhibits in Cyfarthfa Castle were enjoyed by Chrissie.
Much like our outward journey to Wales we encountered heavy rain on the return.
