The Robertson Lamb Hut
The Lakes Weekend Trip – Great Langdale, Lake District
Thursday 26th - Sunday 29th September 2024
The Lake District is a place that saturates your soul with it’s scenic magic. It makes your heart sing with the grandeur of the ancient hills and impressive tarns and takes your breath away whatever the weather.

Great Langdale is located a few miles from Ambleside. With the craggy peaks of Langdale Pikes, Crinkle Crags and Bow Fell rising up from Elterwater, this valley was forged by a volcano and has the best mountain scenery. It’s a real treat to make the long drive worthwhile.

We’ll be staying at Robertson Lamb Hut, the first dedicated climbing hut in the Lakes which was opened in 1930. It’s located about 2.5 miles from Chapel Stile and half a mile from New Dungeon Ghyll hotel. It consists of men only bunkroom for 18, mixed bunkroom for 11 and a women only bunkroom for 6, all with toilets and shower. 6 bunks are reserved for club members.

There is a cosy lounge and kitchen with two tables for dining.

The walks will be challenging with steep hills and rough terrain, some scrambling weather permitting. Low level walks will be available especially in bad weather.

So far there are 12 spaces reserved but there are additional spaces available if required.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, based on receipt of expressions of interest in reply to this email, with a waiting list being set up once the places have been spoken for. Your expression of interest will need to be confirmed by 31st July with payment of the deposit to secure your place.
