Long Weekend Trip – Shropshire Hills
Thursday 6th - Sunday 9th November 2025
Situated on the most South-Western tip of Wenlock Edge is nestled the picturesque hamlet of Lower Dinchope, and it is here that Steve and found Lower Dinchope Big Barn last summer. It has seven bedrooms, with a combination of twins and doubles such that we can accommodate 11 people (more if there are married couples on the trip) with spacious dining room and enough armchairs for everyone in the main lounge. (Yes, there is a second lounge!) Perfectly placed to explore the areas of the lovely Shropshire Hills that we don’t reach when staying at Bridges YHA, we can walk from the door up onto Wenlock Edge one day, and it is only a short drive on the second day to get up onto the Long Mynd for a second full day’s walking. Brown Clee Hill is another spot we might explore… before we return on the Sunday.
Advice re the walking routes:
- We will be doing full day walks – you can expect distances of approximately 12 miles with options to extend possibly.
- The hills reach 520m above sea level, so there maybe climbs of 300 metres or so at the start of the day / possibly again during the day. Not quite “mountain” but not far off!
Cost includes accommodation, 3 breakfasts, 2 evening meals, and bread / spread for lunchbox sandwiches: Group travellers: £135 Independent travellers: £90
Deposit : £65 to HHMC with the reference Shropshire 2025
