Extended Weekend Trip with optional wild camp – DartmoorThursday 8th - Sunday 11th May 2025with optional extension to Monday 12th or Tuesday 13th May
If the camping part is putting you of this is only an optional extra and will only take place if the weather is favourable. We will be returning to Bowerman’s Cottage owned by Girlguiding Devon which is situated in Barracott Lane just outside the village of Manaton on the eastern side of Dartmoor. Owing to its proximity to the A38 trunk road and the M5, journey times are reasonable. More details about the facilities can be found at https://devonguides.org.uk/where-stay/bowermans-cottageThere will be the opportunity for a full day’s walk on Friday and Saturday within the National Park and at least a half day’s walk on the Sunday before setting off for home or heading for a wild camp for one or two nights on the moor. Depending on numbers and attendees there might be more than one option for the routes on each day of the first part of the trip.
