Day Walk – BotolphsSaturday 1st February 2025Meeting at 10 am at the lay-by at Botolphs on the A283 (left hand side heading north, approx half a km beyond the row of cottages north of the cement works), we will head up towards Beeding Hill. We will then follow the Monarch's Way to Southwick Hill. Here, we'll descend towards Mile Oak and pick up the Sussex Border Path just beyond Cockroost hill, which will gently take us back to the South Downs Way to complete our circuit. The walk is 10 miles and we should comfortably complete it in good daylight, although there are options to shorten it if needed. Please bring a packed lunch and a flask of tea. There will be a chance to top up with tea and cake at the Youth Hostel (and use the loos) on our way back if time permits. The ascent is around 1400ft overall. Please let me know if you'd like to join the walk. |
