But the walks, oh the walks, they were stunning! On the first day we tackled the Nantille Ridge, which was just awesome. Took a bit of car shuffling, and a bit of a slog at the end when we were tired, but the pleasure of being able to walk the whole ridge in one day was worth it. On the second day we took on Snowdon – a first for a number of our members. We started off from the bunkhouse under cloudy skies; as we stated to climb we went into the cloud ... and then burst through into glorious sunshine. We were treated to the phenomenon that is a “brocken spectre” – our own personal rainbows – before we made the final push top the summit up the Cambrian Way path. We returned down the Snowdon Ranger track, glad to leave the madding crowds behind!
