Weekend Trip – Beautiful SuffolkThursday 18th - Sunday 21st November 2027Our November trip takes us to the beautiful countryside of Suffolk, where we will enjoy a mix of walking, with a wealth of walks locally in the beautiful Suffolk countryside and the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) close by, made famous worldwide by the artists Constable and Gainsborough. There are lots of options for places to visit, for example the local towns of Lavenham, Clare and others, built on the wealth of the wool trade, there’s no shortage of places to walk and things to see We will be staying at the “old brooder bunkhouse” at the Hall, Milden, this is a large modern bunkhouse that sleeps up to 22 people. Here is the link for more information: https://www.thehall-milden.co.uk/the-old-brooder The estimated trip cost based on 12 is: Group: £210 Independent: £175 Of course, if we have more than 12, which we certainly have space for, then the final costs should be less. |

Extended Weekend Trip – DevonFriday 16th - Monday 19th July 2027Dartmoor: Camping, Glamping, Hiking and Wild Swimming For this year’s camping trip, we have a very special wild-swimming focused trip planned. The camping trip and heatwave in 2026 gave us the idea of running 2027 as a dual walking option on each day so that there’s something for everyone. Each day will have an option for a pure hiking route with more distance covered, whilst the other option will have a very special wild-swimming focus (with longer stops). Walks will focus around the River Dart: there are small plunge pools, waterfalls, epic gorges, places to jump off cliffs, spots to paddle in or spots to just sit and watch the fish jump and the birds flit up and down the river. The history, from old mine works to gravity defying clapper bridges, and the wide array of wildlife is spectacular. The walking is very varied and even includes the possibility of some scrambling. We will be staying at Meadowfield campsite (https://www.meadowfieldscampsite.co.uk/), a lovely site in Dartington near Totnes where we have been offered some very good prices as they are keen to have us – the campsite appears fairly new. We have booked a number of tent pitches; we have also reserved a bell tent and one of their comfortable looking pods, both of which can sleep 3 – 4 club members, for those who want to glamp. The site has a large very appointed oak framed communal barn to gather in if the weather turns, with a fully fitted kitchen area (including fridge and freezer space), a spacious shower block and even a sauna with plunge pool. If you don't have any camping equipment but would like to borrow a tent please let us know. We will plan to eat out each evening with plenty of tasty looking pubs only a short drive away from the campsite. However there is always the option to cook in their well-appointed Kitchen… When emailing to reserve a place please let us know what type of accommodation you would be seeking and we will do our best to make it work. Approximate Costs are shown below. As there are a number of accommodation options at different prices the final cost will be determined according to the accommodation that you use. (At the bottom end of the range, if two share their own tent the cost is cheaper; at the other end of the range the pod is slightly more expensive but if four share the cost is £25 each.) For the pod and bell tent, there is an option to hire duvets/ pillows and towels for a one off charge of £25. Group Travellers: £120 - £135 Independents: £60 - £75 Deposit : £75 to HHMC with the reference “Devon 2027” by Friday 14th May 2027 Please email me in in the first instance to check availability and for the HHMC bank account details. or (to add Duvets/pillows& towels would be a one time charge of £25) (usually £85/night) Single Occupancy tent - £20 per night (usually £35/night) Double Occupancy tent - £25 per night (usually £35/night) Pod - £100 per night - no difference in price whether 3 or 4 people (usually £130/night) Bell Tent - £70 per night with just a fitted sheet - no difference in price whether 3 or 4 people) (to add Duvets/pillows& towels would be a one time charge of £25) (usually £85/night) |
