Extended Weekend Trip – Isle of Arran
Saturday 10th - Tuesday 20th April 2027

This year's Scotland trip takes us to the Isle of Arran where we will enjoy 9 full days of walking with both mountain and coastal walking options on offer.

We have booked Shore Lodge, a National Trust for Scotland property, located in the grounds of Brodick Castle and ideally located to access the entire island via car or public transport as well as being close to Brodick itself. The accommodation sleeps 14 and has a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge with wood burner. There are four dorms with bunkbeds sleeping 2, 4 and 6 in each room. Mountain options will include Goat Fell, Cir Mhor, Caisteal Abhail and Beinn Tarsuinn all over 2500ft, as well as the Pirmin Hills to the west. The Arran coastal path can be completed in 7 days; there will be the option to the walk the entire path or sections. Both the mountains and sections of the coastal walking give options for scrambling. Other low level options include the Fisherman's walk from Brodick and walking to the Cir Machrie standing stones.
There are also options if anyone needs a rest day from walking with Brodick castle moments away, the Arran heritage museum nearby and the marine discovery centre. The Isle of Arran has Scotland's wildlife "big 5" of seals, otters, red deer, golden eagles and red squirrels. There will opportunities for spotting birds as well as other wildlife.

Independent £395 to include accommodation, 10 breakfasts and 8 dinners on a self-catering basis. You need to arrange your own way to get to Arran.

The deposit will be £310 payable by 31 December 2026.
