Evening Walk – Boxgrove

Given that the nights are drawing in, we have a shortish walk planned for next Wednesday 26th May. The walk is the popular Halnaker Windmill loop including the 'famous' tree lined sunken lane.

Can we meet at 6.00 pm at Boxgrove Village Hall car park. Usually plenty of space unless a function is going on in the hall!

We then head off possibly calling in at the local church (early 12th century with french influences and wonderful carvings) and the Boxgrove Priory. The walk then takes us to a section of Roman Road with the famous sunken lane before climbing up and visiting the Windmill. From the Mill there are glorious views over the surrounding countryside.

The walk is approx 4.55 miles and has an elevation gain of about 345 ft. With a coffee break it will take us about 2 hr 15 mins.

We can finish the walk at the Anglesea Arms.

Unfortunately public transport is limited so car sharing best option.
