Evening Walk – Knepp rewilded estateMonday 13th July 2026Meet in Dial Post (parking on roadside near the pub, The Crown) at 6.30 for a 6.45 departure. We will amble around the rewilded Knepp estate, hoping to spot the free roaming deer, longhorns, Tamworth pigs and ponies, with some white storks likely as well. This circular stroll also takes in Shipley windmill and the castle and ruined keep. It’s around 6.5/7 miles and should take 2 hours 10 mins and is more or less completely flat. Please let me know if you would like to join the walk. If the pub is still open we may be able to sneak in for refreshments afterwards, but it does sometimes close early- or we could head to the Red Lion in Ashington. |

Day Walk – Whiteways LodgeSunday 7th JuneThe walk will be starting at Whiteways Lodge car park at 10.00 am. The car park is on the large roundabout to the north of Arundel. Public transport is not great but it's only a 20 minute drive from Worthing and happy to ensure car shares. The walk is just about 9.5 miles and will involve some uphill sections climbing 945 ft. It is described as 'difficult' but should not be too taxing depending on weather conditions! The walk will follow the Monarch's Way to Houghton and then follow the river to Bury before heading to Bignor and then returning to Whiteways car park. There is a cafe at the start and pubs on the way for refreshment stops! The walk should take about 5 hours 30 mins with a lunch stop half way round. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks. |
